Mathura Kalauny
Mathura Kalauny was born in 1947 in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Nature had a profound impact on him. He was creatively inclined towards literary compositions from an early age. He started writing in 1980, in his early thirtees. Established himself as a short story writer in a very short time. Most of the short stories are in genre of humorous satire.
After completing his tenure as Research Manager in ITC's R&D , he nowadays lives in Bangalore, and devotes his time in writing, theatre and training youngsters in the art of theatre. He regularly conducts workshops in Communication and Personality development using the tenets of theatre.

He is a prominent member of prestigious poetry group Shabd Sahityik Sanstha of Bangalore. He has also been an elected president of the group for two years.

He founded Kalayan Theatre Group in 1988. Their first production Komal Gandhar was in 1989, Since then he has produced and directed 30 plays under Kalayan banner.
He has been honoured at many national and international platforms and invited to read his plays.
He has done poineering work in putting Hindi in the Web. He started a webzine Kalayan Patrika in 1999. At that time Kalayan Patrika was only the second Hindi web-mag. Since then the magazine has been serving tasteful Hindi literature to the readers from the estblished and upcoming Hindi authors.
He has also appeared in radio plays and television serials.
